Frequently asked questions

Questions trades owners ask about organic SEO

These are the questions we hear most from plumbers, electricians, roofers and other trades owners before they start. If yours is not here, call, text or email and ask.

Most owners who contact us have been burned by marketing at least once, so their questions are practical and a little sceptical. That is healthy. Here are the answers we give most often, with links to the pages that go deeper.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?

Trades.Agency plans start at $1,999 a month month to month, or $1,499 a month billed annually, in Canadian dollars plus GST/HST by province. Elite and Enterprise plans cost more and cover more. There is no ad budget to add for organic work.

Is there a contract?

No long-term contract. Each plan renews monthly, and 30 days' notice ends it. Annual billing is optional and lowers the monthly price.

How long before I get more calls?

Profile fixes can show up in weeks. Meaningful growth in calls usually takes several months, and competitive city markets take longer than small towns. We will give you a realistic timeline for your market before you start.

We tried an agency before and got nothing. Why would this be different?

We can't promise it will be, but we can make it checkable. You get a written plan, every page and profile change is visible to you, you own all the accounts, and reports show calls rather than vanity numbers. If something isn't working, you'll see it and so will we.

Who owns the website, profile and accounts?

You do. Your Google Business Profile, Search Console, analytics and website content stay in your name. We work through access you grant, and if you leave, you keep everything.

Can you promise I will rank first?

No. Google sets rankings and no agency controls them. We commit to the work, to following Google's guidelines, and to honest reporting.

What do your reports show?

Calls and messages from your profile and website, rankings for your main job types across your service area, review count and recency compared with nearby competitors, and what we did and plan to do next. Short enough to read in five minutes.

Do I have to stop running ads?

No. Some owners keep a small budget while organic visibility grows and reduce it later. That is your call; this service focuses only on organic work.

How much of my time does it take?

An hour or two in the first month for the interview and approvals, then about twenty minutes a week: sending job photos, approving pages and making sure review requests go out.

Do you work with my trade?

Most likely. We work with plumbing, electrical, roofing, landscaping, painting, renovation, flooring, fencing, decks, garage doors, cleaning, pest control and similar trades. HVAC companies are better served by our sister site HVAC.Organic.

Do you work in my province?

Yes. We serve all 10 provinces and 3 territories, and each region page explains the local regulators, seasons and language rules that affect what you publish.

Are you a contractor?

No. We are a marketing and consulting service. We do not install, repair or service anything, and we never compete with you for jobs.

Cost and commitment

Plans start at $1,999 a month, or $1,499 a month billed annually, and run month to month with 30 days' notice. Prices are in Canadian dollars, plus GST or HST for your province (GST and QST in Quebec). The pricing page shows all three plans and includes a worked comparison you can redo with your own job values and click prices.

There is no media budget on top. Organic work is paid for in effort, not clicks, which is why the fee is the whole cost.

Timelines and expectations

Organic growth starts slowly and then compounds. A realistic pattern for a trades business looks like this:

  • First month: profile corrections, tracking, audit and plan.
  • Months two to four: new pages and project stories go live; reviews start arriving steadily; profile views and impressions rise.
  • Months four to twelve: more searches, more of your service area, more calls, with the pace set by your competition.

If you need calls this week, organic work alone is the wrong tool. We would rather tell you that than take your money.

Ownership and control

You own every account and every word. We never register your profile or domain in our name, and we never hold content hostage. This matters because many owners come to us after a past agency kept the website or the Google profile when they parted ways. If that has happened to you, mention it when you contact us; recovering access is often the first task.

Results and reporting

Our documented case studies come from heating and cooling companies, and we label them as results from our HVAC work. They show what the method can do: Roma Heating & Cooling, for example, grew organic traffic 400% in 12 months. See the results page for the full set and what transfers to your trade.

Reports focus on what pays the bills: calls, messages, booked jobs where you share the data, rankings across your area, and reviews. We explain what changed and what we will do next.

When an earlier agency let you down

Owners who have been disappointed before usually describe the same pattern: monthly reports full of impressions and "visibility scores", no change in the phone, and no clear idea of what was actually done. The fix is not a better promise; it is a different arrangement.

  • Visible work. Every new page, profile change and review reply is something you can open and check.
  • Your accounts. Access is granted by you and can be withdrawn by you.
  • Plain reports. Calls first, rankings second, activity last.
  • Short notice. Thirty days ends the plan, so we have to keep earning the next month.

If you are not sure what your last agency did, send us your website and profile links. Reviewing the history is often revealing, and it shapes where we start.

A quick self-check before you call

You can learn a lot in ten minutes. Search for your main job and your home town on a phone, in a private window. Note whether you appear in the map results, whether the result lands on a page about that job or on your home page, and how many reviews from the last three months you have compared with the businesses beside you. Those three answers usually tell us which service matters first.

How the work is done

The method is described on the services page, and the guides teach the core techniques in enough detail that you could do some of it yourself. Many owners read them first, then decide which parts they would rather hand over.
